Happy New Year from WineRelease.com, now 1,167 winery listings strong!

I spent New Year's in New York and now have a new favorite restaurant, Fleur de Sel, it usurped Veritas as my culinary favorite. I also had a great dinner at Artisinal, the best live uni at the Oyster Bar in Grand Central, some great wines at Cru and a big bowl of some fantastic pork ramen at the Momofuku Noodle Bar. I also visited the Bottega del Vino wine bar with some friends (see photo).

I also want to let you know that my niece Brynn, who has been featured on WineRelease.com over the years while she was going to Cal Poly (and my designated driver while I toured the Central Coast wine region), moved to New York and is loving it (see photo).

  • QPRwines' Wine Values for West Coast Pinot Noir.
    At the high end the 2004 August West, Santa Lucia Highlands Rosella's Vineyard averages 96 points and at $50 it is 32% of the average $155 price for a similar scoring wine earning a "Great Value" moniker. At $23 the 2001 Byron Vineyards, Santa Maria Valley averages 92 points and is 27% the average price earning it a "Great Value". At $16 the 2002 Baileyana Winery, Edna Valley Firepeak Vineyard averages 90 points and is 31% the average price earning it a "Great Value". At the value end of $8, the 2003 Coastal Ridge, California averages 86 and earns a 27% "Great Value" QPR.
