This month we had 148 winery updates and 88 wineries releasing wine.

Summer may officially begin on Saturday, June 21, but it already feels like it’s here. My daughter just wrapped up her school year on Friday, and we're heading to Paris for a few weeks—she’ll be staying a bit longer than I will. Expect a few Paris snapshots in the July edition.

Our wine group held a special tasting this past week in memory of one of our longtime members, David, who recently passed away. In accordance with his wishes, we each selected a bottle from his cellar to share. One of our group’s unofficial rules is that you can’t vote for your own wine as “wine of the night.” But David always joked, “I know I brought this, but I still think it’s the best.” So, by pouring one of his bottles, we ensured that David’s wine would be voted wine of the night—just the way he would have liked it. A meaningful evening, and a wonderful way to honor a good friend.
